Julep Maven Monthly Box: July

Hello Amaryllis Living readers! I'm back with my monthly Julep post for July. I know this is super later but I've just been so busy! I shouldn't be making excuses but better late than never right?

So for this month Julep's Maven box theme was the summer and the beach. There were great colorful polishes unlike last month which was just...not summery at all. This means I was much more happy when I saw this collection.

I chose the "Classic With A Twist" box which included two nail polishes and a body lotion. The two nail polishes are Vicki and Kelsey. Let's begin with them!

First Impressions: Disney's Ariel Treasure Within Beaty Book by E.L.F.

How super excited was I when I discovered this gem at the drugstore?! This, our wonderful readers, is the Disney's Ariel Palette Treasure Within Beauty Book by E.L.F. My sister and I actually found this at Walgreens during a random run to the drugstore. We both saw it and went OOOOOOO! I was hesitant to buy it at first because I wasn't too sure of the quality but my sister liked it so much that I decided to buy it. I mean why not, it was only $10! There were other beauty products that went with this collection like lashes, I believe a brush set and makeup bag, and some hair accessories. I wasn't too interested in those and I just got the palette.

First off I'd like to say is that the design of this palette is absolutely gorgeous. The novelty of this item gives me such a nostalgic feel and giiiirrrlll Ariel's hair looks fantastic! The packaging is made out of tough cardboard and the strap closures to keep the front closed.

Now when you open it up, this is what the inside of the palette looks like. It comes with a little mirror on the side with a cute saying "You've got your own style...". This palette comes with six eyeshadows, two bronzers, and a lipgloss. The beauty book also comes with two beauty tools, an eyeshadow brush and a bronzer brush. I love the little detail of the bookmark with the A for Ariel wax stamp. On the back of it is a small version of the right side of the palette. Although it's cute it is quite annoying because every time I close the book it's in the way and I end up creasing the bookmark.

If you open the left side of the beauty book where the little mirror is, you'll find two step by step instructions of two different makeup looks. On the corner it has the saying "...Now let it come through." which finishes the quote from the front cover. I love it when any palette has these because if I'm feeling lazy and don't want to conjure up an eye look by myself, I can just refer to the tutorials.

Now that my little overview is done, let's actually check out the eyeshadows, bronzers, and lipgloss!

Julep Maven Monthly Box: First Box First Impressions & Swatches

Hello wonderful people that actually read our blog! It's been a long time since we last posted  but it is May now! A Drugstore Makeup Finds Of The Month will be due soon because I plan to be faithful to that segment of our blog.

Well anyways, this blog post will be about the Julep Maven Monthly Box and my first experience with any type of monthly box. Julep was having an amazing deal for new members where the first box is basically free! All you have to do is pay for shipping which is just a measly $3 considering the box itself each month is $25. You get three Julep products ranging from nail polish, makeup, nail care, skin care, maybe haircare (?), and anything else Julep does. Honestly, I thought the only thing Julep did was just nail polishes and I've seen those at Sephora before. They run for about $14 and I could never justify buying them. I do have Butter London polishes which are I think a dollar more but they were more hyped at the time I was really into nail polish.

I haven't heard much about Julep but I could not pass up this amazing deal and I've always wanted to try a monthly box like this. When you go on the site you're first asked to sign up and take a "Style Profile" quiz. The results of the quiz will determine your box of the month. I ended up getting Boho Glam and received two nail polishes and one nail care product. It also came with a buffer for your nails and cards and whatnot describing your box. Honestly, you can choose the style box you want but I went with what I got because it was my favorite one out of the bunch anyways.

Let's check out the products I got!

First Impressions & Review: Maybelline Color Tattoo Pure Pigments Eyeshadows

I was super excited to find out that Maybelline would be coming out with pigment versions of their cream shadow line and when I found these in the store, I had to pick them up! I went to Target as per usual (my home away from home) and surveyed the colors Maybelline had. My initial impression of them was disappointment. The range includes twelve shades, six neutral colors and six wild colors. On the colorful side of the pigments were a bright pink, purple, blue, turqouise, gold, and a black with blue shimmers. Within the neutrals were a bronze color, a copper, a brown with gray undertones, a bright olive green, and a light and slightly darker cream pigment. I stared at the collection and nothing interested me but for the sake of the blog I forced myself and bought one pigment in 35 Breaking Bronze. It was quite hard to see what the actual color looks like in the container but they did have what the color of the shade is supposed to look like in the back (as pictured above).

With my declining interest and excitement in this product, let's go ahead and review the Maybelline Color Tatoo Pure Pigments.

First Impressions: The Falsies Big Eyes Volum' Express Mascara

This is my first impressions review on a recently released mascara. Maybelline has a reputation of releasing great mascaras, such as the regular Falsies and Great Lash mascaras. I picked up this mascara at Target, because I thought this presented an intriguing concept. It is an ingenious concept to put two types of mascara wands in one package. So I figured, why not. I have the color Very Black in the Waterproof version.

"Innovation: Our first dual-ended brush for a captivating eye-opening false lash effect:
1. Upper-lashes brush: pushes lashes up and wide
2. Lower-lashes mini brush: grabs and coats every tiny lash"
