March Drugstore Makeup Find Of The Month: Physicians Formula, E.L.F., & Garnier

(I apologize now for the quality of the pictures. I am using my iPhone because I don't own a camera)

Hello everyone and welcome to another Drugstore Makeup Find Of The Month! The month is March and I know I'm just a bit late on this post but I found some amazing things at the drugstore. I'm so happy about them that I'm so giddy writing this post right now! The two brands that I got my makeup items from is Physician's Formula, E.L.F. Cosmetics, and Garnier.

I can't wait to talk about these so let's go!

First up from the brand Physician's Formula are three makeup items that came together in a package called the Shimmer Strips collection. I found this amazing deal at Ross for only $7 instead of $30! ISN'T THAT AWESOME?! They had a bunch of these packs in different types just for $7. There was also this blush and bronzer set but I wasn't too intrigued by the color selection. But each set of the Shimmer Strips collection comes with a mix of items for green, hazel, and blue eyes. So it's really a mix and match kind of deal. I got a mascara, and eyeshadow palette, and a set of gel liners. Ross had more amazing deals in their makeup section so I would suggest taking a visit to your local Ross.

I'm going to first talk about the Custom Eye Enhancing Mascara Duo for Green Eyes. It says that it is volumizing and lengthening in order to dramatically enhance green eyes. It is supposed to be clump free, flake free, and smudge free for 24 hours. I think this is the most interesting product in this bunch. I've never had colored mascara before so when I tried it I was amazed. The black side has a jumbo brush and the green side is regular.

I tried both ends separately and together and so far I really like this mascara. I especially like the black side of the mascara because of the size of the wand. It grabs each and everyone of my lashes and does volumize and lengthen it. I tried the green mascara alone and honestly it's too overwhelming for me but together with the black it is tolerable. I do feel when I do that it hides my eyes away but it is an interesting concept.

I love the formula of these so far. They haven't flaked on me or smudged underneath my eyes at the end of the day which I really appreciate it.

Next in the package is the Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow & Liner for Hazel Eyes. This eyeshadow palette comes with nine shades ranging from white, golds, coppers and pinks. The way Physicians Formula set it up, every three shadow is an individual trio going from natural to playful and to dramatic. You get six eyeshadow shades and three liner shades.

(from left to right is top to bottom from palette starting with the white.)

The pigmentation of this palette is actually really good. They aren't crazy pigmented or anything like that but they aren't chalky either. Some of these trio colors are weird to work with just because it looks too light against my skin but the darker and towards the end shadows are perfect for me. I don't use any of the shadows for liner and just create different types of looks with them. It really does make my hazel eyes pop and I've been thoroughly enjoying this palette.

Lastly in this set is the Custom Eye Enhancing Gel Cream Liner for Blue Eyes. This comes with three cream gel liners, a blue, brown, and black. These are supposed to be long wearing and water resistant.

So far I've only been able to try out the black gel liner and it is amazing smooth. The black liner actually took me by surprise because it has blue glitters in it. I was shocked and didn't think it would work out for me but I really really like it. I've been using it ever since and it is really long wearing and super water proof. I had swatches on my hand and tried to wash it off with just water and it wouldn't come off. Kudos to that! It doesn't look bad at all at the end of the day and it doesn't smudge. I think the glitters add a wow factor to my liner look and I've been really enjoying it. I can't wait to try out the other gel liners. Leave a comment down below if you want to know what I think about the blue and brown ones because I'll probably try them out by the time this post is up.

Moving on from my Ross purchase let's talk about my Target purchases. Target should hire me as like a representative or something for the amount of times I go to Target. If I'm home and away from school I go there practically everyday. It's ridiculous!

Well anyways the Target around me near my school upgraded the beauty section and now it's just bright, light, and beautiful! I don't know if all Targets have converted to this way but there is just so much more light and the display cases are modern, clear, and just so neat. I'm in love!

Besides my fascination with the new display a lot of the drugstore makeup brands haven't really been coming out with anything new. So while I browsed I happened upon the E.L.F. section and I normally don't go there because it doesn't usually get updated but it finally did!

I got three new items and they are the Long Lasting Lustrous Eyeshadows and the HD Blush. I've been eyeing these items on their website for the longest time but just didn't want to make an order online. So I was super excited to see that you can buy these at stores. I don't think they had every color from the website in Target but they had a pretty good amount. I think three of each? I can't remember.

So let's talk about the two eyeshadows I got. I have two shadows, one in a gold and another a deep plum. The gold color is called toast and the deep plum festivity. These shadows are super soft and creamy and they have amazing glitters. It has like a mousse like texture and applies on nicely. It is a little bit patchy so I would suggest wearing a good base underneath. They do blend out well and it just gorgeous on the lids. I especially like the plum color the best. It's only $3 and I think I'm going to go back and get the pink one. So far I like it. It hasn't creased on me but it is patchy. I have to put an eyeshadow in the center to make it more even.

The next E.L.F. product I got was the HD Blush and I have been eyeing this for a long time. I've seen so many reviews and others talking about it and now I finally have it. Boy, does this blush pack a punch! My goodness, I know people were saying how crazy pigmented and intense this blush is but I didn't think it was this crazy.

I got it in the color showstopper because I've been feeling very plum this year. It is such a beautiful color! It may look dark and scary in the tube but when applied as lightly as possible it can be blended out to a nice purple pink color. I love it! You'll love run out of this ever unless you use it every single day and you need the smallest tiniest drop. Trust me, even that is too much. The wear of it is great too. It lasts until the end of the day.

And finally, the last beauty find of this month is the Garnier Clean Nourishing Cleansing Oil. This has been the best beauty find ever. This product is now my holy grail item and I rarely have holy grail items. I heard about this cleansing oil from samschuerman who had a video all about Garnier's new line of skincare. She said amazing things about this and so it peaked my interest.

My goodness is this product amazing. You have to have a dry face and dry hands before putting this product on your face. I only need one pump for all over my face and it takes all my makeup off including my waterproof mascara. This doesn't leave a greasy feel at all once I wash it off and my skin is instantly smoother. It's absolutely amazing and I think I won't be buying eye makeup remover anymore. I totally recommend for you all to try this out. If you're lazy like me and just want to take off any waterproof makeup as fast as possible than this is the product for you. Now I don't know if oily skin people can rock this since it is intended for dry skin but I have combination skin and the dry patches are completely gone.

And that is all for this month's drugstore makeup finds! It has been an amazing beauty month for me and I hope it has been for you too. Leave a comment down below if you've tried these products or found something absolutely amazing in the drugstore that I could try.
