Review: CoverGirl Clean Whipped Creme Foundation

It's been a while since I last did any type of review so I'm making a comeback with this new drugstore foundation called the Covergirl Clean Whipped Creme Foundation. I heard lots of amazing things about this product from youtubers, beauty gurus, and bloggers alike. So, being the foundation lover that I am, I had to go buy it and review it for you all!

Claims: Our lightweight whipped creme foundation gives your skin a boost of moisture without the greasy, shiny finish. You'll love the dreamy, 100% breathable formula that leaves your skin looking smooth, natural, and matte. (Infromation from Covergirl website).

There are lots of amazing claims here Covergirl so let's get on with the review.

I'd like to first start off with the packaging. This foundation comes in a glass circular jar and the lid screws on and off. It's actually not heavy at all considering it's a glass jar and it's really sturdy (I've dropped it a couple of times...oops!). I personally really like this packaging because I can use my knockoff beauty blender really easily and it may not be super hygienic like a pump but if you're in a rush, it's perfect.

The above picture are swatches of the product. On the top is it without blended in and on the bottom is the foundation when blended in. The whipped creme comes in ten different shades and I am in the color 355 Soft Honey. The color range is pretty decent with 360 Classic Tan being the darkest color and 305 Ivory being the lightest. What sucks is that on the packaging Covergirl only puts on the number of the foundation so I had to search online what the name of the color actually was. It's cuter to know what the names are :) CORRECTION: Thanks to Nizum Barua the name of the foundation can be found on the back of the foundation at the bottom. It's tiny so look closely!

Anyways, when I first applied the foundation it felt smooth and was really easy blend. It felt super lightweight and blends to a powder finish. I was a little concerned during initial application because it seemed to go on lighter with a bit of a white cast but as I continued to blend it in, the color began to match and stayed that color as it dried. It was the perfect color and I was glad to have found that in Walgreens, where I purchased the foundation, that they had q-tips out to test the foundations. I thought that was very helpful and a step up towards the direction of using testers for drugstores. Now the foundation itself does have a chemical scent to it but it will not transfer on the face.

After the foundation had completely dried (which was quick) with one application, my face looked very well covered. I liked the coverage a lot, medium to full. I had not applied anything to my face except for the foundation itself and found that I barely needed concealer (just to brighten those darn dark under eye bags!). My skin truly did look flawless. My skin definitely felt breathable, smooth, natural, and matte so A+ there Covergirl! I didn't feel dry at all and where I had dry patches, it didn't accentuate them at all, and where I have oiliness was completely matte. This foundation also has no SPF, which sucks for summertime but ideal for photo taking.

I then tested the foundation throughout the day. It stuck on really well as I kept checking in every mirror I could find and I still looked flawless. A good makeup day makes you so much more confident in yourself. Girl I was on point! At the end of the day, after a total of 10 hours of wear, it still looked great. It actually did feel a bit greasy on me around my T-zone and cheeks but nothing a powder can't easily fix! It was a hot day when I wore this foundation so I don't blame it for greasing up a TINY bit. Overall, it's sweatproof and super long lasting.

Pros:
  • Lightweight packaging
  • Smooth
  • Easy to blend
  • Felt light on the skin
  • Quick drying
  • Perfect color match (for me!)
  • Medium to full coverage
  • Flawless!
  • Natural looking
  • Great for phototaking
  • Longlasting
Cons:
  • No pump
  • Initial application looks light with white cast but blends to color
  • Color range is decent
  • Has chemical smell but will not transfer
  • No SPF
  • Gets a little greasy at the end of the day

Final Thoughts:

I am absolutely IN LOVE with this foundation. I recommend this to anyone. It made me feel great about my skin (which is so rare) and it was super long lasting. I bet if I put on primer and powder it would have been matte and flawless until I took it off. Oh man, it's just amazing :D

Grade:

A++++++
