Daisy's Current Skincare Routine

Hello everybody! Long time no post! ... (lame blogger joke). Anyways, I know it's been a while since we've made a post on the blog but it's the beginning of a brand new school year and I've been busier than ever. Let's move on from my excuses and get down to what I really wanted to talk about today, skincare!

Skincare is an essential part to my everyday life (and it should be yours as well!), morning and night. Now I'm a college student which include late nights, clubbing, partying, early morning wake ups, and the occasional zits and pimples that come with eating bad food and getting our monthly gifts. I've been through enough of those to know exactly how my skin reacts to each situation. Now I haven't found the perfect skincare routine so I'm still on the hunt for my holygrails. In my ventures, whenever I finish up the usual cleanser, toner, and moisturizer I like to buy new ones. There has never been a time, well that I can recall, that I've bought a skincare item consecutively...well maybe makeup wipes.

The skincare items that I'm going to mention are fairly new in the drugstore and I've been using them long enough to know whether or not I like it. So let's get started!

First Impressions & Review: Maybelline Color Tattoo Pure Pigments Eyeshadows

I was super excited to find out that Maybelline would be coming out with pigment versions of their cream shadow line and when I found these in the store, I had to pick them up! I went to Target as per usual (my home away from home) and surveyed the colors Maybelline had. My initial impression of them was disappointment. The range includes twelve shades, six neutral colors and six wild colors. On the colorful side of the pigments were a bright pink, purple, blue, turqouise, gold, and a black with blue shimmers. Within the neutrals were a bronze color, a copper, a brown with gray undertones, a bright olive green, and a light and slightly darker cream pigment. I stared at the collection and nothing interested me but for the sake of the blog I forced myself and bought one pigment in 35 Breaking Bronze. It was quite hard to see what the actual color looks like in the container but they did have what the color of the shade is supposed to look like in the back (as pictured above).

With my declining interest and excitement in this product, let's go ahead and review the Maybelline Color Tatoo Pure Pigments.

Review: Chatecaille Les Roses Palette

This is true luxury. Rose-embossed blushes and extremely buttery and pigmented eyeshadows, all in a beautiful silver metal case, says it all. However I believe this palette was released in Spring 2007, so it is not readily available to purchase. Despite the fact, I just wanted to share the beauty and elegance that is Chantecaille

According to the Chantecaille Twitter page, this brand is a "luxury skincare and cosmetics company known for its highly botanical & innovative skincare line and its philanthropic and runway inspired collections."

After perusing the internet on the products, I must say that THESE ARE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THINGS EVER. It isn't hard to believe that this is such an expensive brand, because many of their makeup products are intricately embossed with images like tigers and roses and wild horses. It is so amazing. Sorry if I am fangirling too much :) Okay well now onto the review of the Chantecaille Les Roses Palette.

Daisy's July Favorites 2013

It is the end of June and of course I have my July favorites! July was an amazing month because we (Jalisa and I plus family and friends) went on a cruise vacation to the Bahamas! Technically it was during the last week of June but the vacation went on to the first week of July because we went to Orlando and I finally got to visit Universal Studios and Islands Of Adventure! Anyways, all that fun stuff will be in the Consenescere section of our blog very soon. After our vacation week, I've just been getting over my crazy tan and rediscovering some old but good makeup products. I've also been watching new shows, listening to good music, and loving youtubers.  So let's get on to my favorites.

Review: Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelée

Welcome to another review! I am such a fan of Josie Maran products, that I had to pick these up when I was at Sephora a little more than a month ago. Josie Maran products are truly high quality, and I knew that these would not be disappointing. Also, these cheek gelées are comprised of organic, natural ingredients, is recyclable, paraben, gluten, and cruelty free, and contains no synthetic fragrance, like most, if not all the products in Josie Maran cosmetics. According to the packaging,

"Get 14 hours of natural-looking hydrating color with this cooling cheek gelée. Infused with 50% Coconut Water, the buildable, yet see-through blush drenches skin in moisture while nourishing with Argan Oil."

As these are fairly pricey products, I decided to only purchase 2 of the 6 shades available. I have the colors Poppy Paradise and Pink Escape.

Review: Revlon Lash Potion by Grow Luscious Mascara

Here is my review for the Revlon Lash Potion by Grow Luscious. I purchased this mascara a little more than a month ago, and I have not had time to test it out until recently. At first, I was going to do a first impressions on it, however, after wearing it out a couple times, I have formed an opinion on the mascara's performance. I have the waterproof version in the color 001 Blackest Black.

Review: Almay Smart Shade CC Cream & Mousse Makeup

I decided to go out on a whim (well because I got a $2 off coupon for Almay products at Target) and splurge on two new Almay face products from their smart shade line called the Almay Smart Shade CC Cream and the Almay Smart Shade Mousse Makeup. And let me just tell you, Almay isn't a cheap drugstore product. The CC Cream retails for $8.49 at Target and the Mousse Makeup is priced at $11.99. So let's get on to some swatches.

Review: Almay Color + Care Liquid Lip Balm

On the same day that I purchased the new L'oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder foundation I also decided to pick up the Almay Color + Care Liquid Lip Balm. I saw it in the Almay section of the makeup aisle and I contemplated whether or not I should buy it. At first glance I knew I was attracted to the packaging and the colors. So I decided why not give it a go since I had some preconceptions about it from other viewers. My mistake out of all this was that I thought it was a liquid lipstick, not a liquid lipbalm. So, when I went home to try it out I was super disappointed at the pigmentation and then proceeded to thoroughly read its description on the lip product itself. I felt so stupid and wondered where the heck did I hear that this was a liquid lipstick?! With a fresh new mindset, I proceeded on with my review. Here's swatches of the colors that I got.

First Impressions: The Falsies Big Eyes Volum' Express Mascara

This is my first impressions review on a recently released mascara. Maybelline has a reputation of releasing great mascaras, such as the regular Falsies and Great Lash mascaras. I picked up this mascara at Target, because I thought this presented an intriguing concept. It is an ingenious concept to put two types of mascara wands in one package. So I figured, why not. I have the color Very Black in the Waterproof version.

"Innovation: Our first dual-ended brush for a captivating eye-opening false lash effect:
1. Upper-lashes brush: pushes lashes up and wide
2. Lower-lashes mini brush: grabs and coats every tiny lash"

Review: L'oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder

I went to Target the other day and just like any makeup obsessed person, I was browsing through the makeup aisle not expecting to buy anything. But this is the downfall of all makeup lovers out there because in reality you will buy something new, regardless if it was in your budget or not. And that product for me is the L'oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder. It was perched high on the L'oreal section shelf and I was only able to find it after doing a couple rounds around the makeup aisle. I was excited because I had not heard about this product anywhere and I immediately picked it up. Now it comes in around 12 shades with a decent color range from light to dark tan and it was easy for me to find my shade. The price was fairly reasonable at $10.99. So let's check out some swatches.

Review & Swatches: Rimmel London Show Off Lip Lacquers

First off, I would like to say that I am ecstatic that this is the first product review of our blog! This product has been within my makeup radar for quite a while, considering that this product was released earlier this year in the UK. In the UK, this product is called “Apocalips,” which is frankly a much better name than “Show Off.” The Show Off Lip Lacquers have very liquid-y textures, however they all deliver full opacity once you swipe them on your lips with its doe-foot applicator. The applicators deposit the perfect amount of product. Here, we have 5 of the 14 shades to review.

Consenescere

Consenescere is defined as to "grow old and gray together". Our friend, Danielle found us this word while we were trying to come up with a name for this blog. We liked the name so much we wanted to make a page dedicated to our memories and any of our journeys in life to record here on the blog. Hopefully our personal lives entertain and inspire you to have fun and explore the world.
