October 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag: Beauty Candy

Guys, I am always super late when it comes to posting a post about these glam bags! I'm determined to be on time next month. DETERMINED!

Moving on...the theme of October for Ipsy was Beauty Candy. How adorable! The bag for this month is by far my favorite like it looks like a high end type of bag. The bag is your standard pouch type bag but in the color teal. It has a quilted type of pattern on it but it is super sturdy type of plastic. I really like it because it won't rip easily and it won't get dirty. Love love love it.

As per usual I received five beauty like items and overall I am happy. So click on read more to check my thoughts on the bag!

Consenescere: Spending Time In Central Park & Home

*Near Strawberry Fields*

Over the past weekend I took a trip with two of my friends back home. We planned this trip a couple of weeks ago and I've been super excited because I haven't been home since August.  The bus we traveled on dropped my friends and I in New York City so we decided to spend a day roaming around and go to Central Park and Times Square. My other two friends hadn't been around the city as much as I had and so this was sort of a tourist experience for them.

Here are some pictures we took at Central Park.

*Bethesda Terrace*

Outfit:

Maxi Cardigan - Urban Outfitters

Boyfriend's Tee - Forever 21

Gray Leggings - Cupio

Brown Boots (similar to mine) - Target

Makeup Standouts:

*An awesome tunnel that I forgot the name of!*

One of my friends told me that I always get the awesome "hair blowing in the wind" pics...very true.

*Right outside of the tunnel*

Laura and I's favorite candid pic! Thanks Lauren for the picture! This picture is literally my favorite.

*Sitting on a bench at the walkway towards Bethesda*

This beautiful leaf just fell onto my shoulders. I needed a picture of this!

*Again near Bethesda, the three of us*

One of my favorite group picture of us out of a bunch. There's a fantastic one of us where we look absolutely goofy but Lauren would not appreciate me posting it here :P

Trust me we had a lot of pictures between the three of us but these were our favorite. It was a beautiful day in Central Park and I couldn't have been more happier then to spend it with these two. This was also Laura's first time in Central Park and she loved it.

We roamed around Central Park a little bit more before heading to Times Square. We were all super exhausted at that point and just wanted to get to my home. We met up with my mother at the Port Authority (she works in the city) and we all finally went to my house.

My mom and dad made an epic meal and I had never been more happy than that moment of eating a home cooked meal. I was so happy to see my family after months and it made me feel sane again.

Being in school felt so repetitive and lonely. Drama has been happening around the apartment and stress has been piling up. I not only needed this weekend but my friends needed this as well. It makes me humble and love my family even more. I love to be independent but nothing beats home.

*Me (wearing the shirt I bought for my brother who hates it), my sister, and the cutest dog in the world Pebbles. She even has her own hashtag on instagram #iamzepebbles*

My short and sweet weekend lifted my spirits. I can't wait until Thanksgiving and Christmas and the beauty of winter. I can't wait to be home for the holidays.

I hope you enjoyed this post. It's something different for Amaryllis Living and I like it. I'll probably do more of these in the future. Until then!

Love Always,

Daisy

Lover.ly: Inspirations For An Autumn Wedding

Hello beauties and Happy Halloween! I hope you are all having a spooktacular day! But, as the weather turns a bit chillier and the leaves begin to fall to the ground, and love is in the air, what better time of year then to have a beautiful Autumn wedding.

I love the fall season and the nice weather that it brings. People are falling in love, getting Pumpkin Spice lattes at their local Starbucks, and cuddling with their loved ones. Many, choose to have an Autumn wedding (I am definitely going to be that person) and brides are looking for inspirations on what to wear and how to wear their makeup.

Although I'm single and would love a man to snuggle with, I do love to think about my future wedding from time to time. I was recently contacted by a representative (Hello Carolyn!) at Lover.ly (which is a website that helps with wedding planning and it is amazing! Brides, you should definitely check this website out) and was asked to create makeup inspirations for their beautiful gowns.

So, challenge accepted! Click on read more and check out my makeup ideas for each wedding gown.

September 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag: Street Style

Hello beauties and welcome to another month of Ipsy! Haha I know it's October and I'm super late talking about my September Ipsy Glam Bag but I have a good reason. School kills all my free time. I have written so many essays these past few weeks that I was just tired of writing. But I was staring at my Ipsy bag and I was just like girl, you need to just get it over and done with because I've been enjoying the products I received in this bag.

The theme of Ipsy for the month of September is Street Style. The bag came in a metallic silver pouch with gun metal colored spikes lining the top. It's a very simple bag which I really appreciate. The bag came with five beauty items as per usual and I'm pretty happy with what I got for this month.

So let's get into this bag!

App Review: MakeupSocial

Hello everybody! Today I have an interesting post to blog about and this is something that hasn't been done on Amaryllis Living.

We were approached by email by the owner of a cellphone app called MakeupSocial to check it out. As makeup and beauty lovers, we were super intrigued because for one we'd never heard of it and second it would be fun to check out a beauty app because we don't use any beauty apps at all. So, of course we replied back and immediately downloaded MakeupSocial.

MakeupSocial is a free app that you can get on the app store for IPhone. I'm not sure if it's on the Android...yet but from the research I did I don't think it is on the Android. Now here's a brief description of the app that I found on the iTunes store.

Makeupsocial is the fun new social network for beauty.

Get unbiased beauty advice, reviews and collect beauty products into your beautyshelf whilst stalking and recommending beauty products to your friends, family and beauty lovers.

We have tailored the entire beauty experience in this app such as the reviews, advice and photos to your very own beauty profile. Find a product to suit your skin type, age and skin tone from other people who are similar to you.

I love my apps (who else is obsessed with the Kim Kardashian Hollywood game?!)  and when I saw the description of MakeupSocial, I got super excited. I immediately thought this would be a great way to connect with other beauties and participate more in the beauty community as well.

For this app review, I'll have a specific breakdown of what I look for in liking and keeping an app on my phone. We'll talk accessibility and ease, features, design, and any cons I may have with this app.

August 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag: My First Ever Ipsy Bag!!!

Hello everyone! Today, I am super super excited to talk about my first ever Ipsy Glam Bag! If you don't know what Ipsy is it is a beauty subscription box that has up to 5 items of deluxe beauty samples based off your beauty quiz that you take once you sign up for the box. This box is $10 a month with free shipping and depending on your state/country, you may get taxed.

I had been wanting to be subscribed to Ipsy Glam bag ever since I first heard about it which was a while ago. I love to watch Ipsy Glam Bag unboxings on Youtube and I was always jealous of the amazing samples they received. So this year I decided to bite the bullet and shell out the $10 a month for this beauty bag.

When you sign up you will be put on the waiting list unless you do a series of tasks that will take you off it. Basically, I recommended someone to get an account on Ipsy and I got enough Ipsy points to get off the waiting list and get my August Glam Bag. Once you're off, Ipsy will charge $10 to your bank account every first of the month. So on the first of August I was billed and then by August 11th my bag shipped.

Every month the Ipsy Glam Bag is based off of a theme. The theme for this month is "Beauty Schooled". I love the theme for this month because not only is it accurate but it's also cutely corny as well.

The Ipsy Glam Bag came in this cute white and orange polka dotted circular pencil case pouch. It reminds me so much of my middle school and high school days. I mean I still do have a pencil case in college but it isn't as cute as this...wait well I lied it is Totoro (which cost me $18 in Disney World!) but it's still just nostalgic.

The bag came with five beauty items and first impressions wise, I'm super happy with what I got in the bag because these are all things that I would have tried out on my own. For these posts, I'll talk about each item I received and give my own mini review on them.

So let's delve into this Glam Bag!

Julep Maven Monthly Box: July

Hello Amaryllis Living readers! I'm back with my monthly Julep post for July. I know this is super later but I've just been so busy! I shouldn't be making excuses but better late than never right?

So for this month Julep's Maven box theme was the summer and the beach. There were great colorful polishes unlike last month which was just...not summery at all. This means I was much more happy when I saw this collection.

I chose the "Classic With A Twist" box which included two nail polishes and a body lotion. The two nail polishes are Vicki and Kelsey. Let's begin with them!

Flashback Foundations Friday: Maybelline Fit Me Shine Free StickFoundation

Hurray for another Flashback Foundations Friday! I hope you all are enjoying these posts as much as I am.

Today, I'll be talking about the Maybelline Fit Me Shine Free Stick Foundation. I remember these being advertised a lot of the T.V. and because the concept of it seemed intriguing, I immediately bought it. I bought this foundation a long time ago when it first came out but never really got around to trying it out and talking about it here on the blog post. I've been sifting through all my makeup lately and discovered that I had maybe worn this foundation once or twice. I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to not only include this in our FFF's but to also wear it more often.

So, I wore this for an entire week straight and here is what Maybelline had to say about the product.

Claims: Our first gel stick foundation with an anti shine core. Fresh gel foundation blends to a natural matte finish. Lightweight powders in the anti shine core instantly dissolve excess oil. It's one step perfection. The first of its kind - lightweight gel stick foundation with an anti shine core: powder core instantly dissolves excess oil, for flawless shine free skin and tailor made natural matte coverage, and easy to apply and great on the go. (www.maybelline.com)

This has been out now for quite some time now but some may still be interested in buying it. I still do see these in the drugstores lately so it is still accessible to all. Please comment below and let me know if you enjoy our FFF's posts and let's get on with the review!

Primer Review: L'oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur & L'oreal Youthcode Pore Vanisher

Hello lovely people who read our blog! Today, I have a review on two types of primers from L'oreal. The L'oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur and the L'oreal Youthcode Pore Vanisher. I have been wanting to try out these two primers ever since they came out but they are just so expensive for the drugstore! I think they both retail for about $25-$25 (I'll have exact numbers later in the blog) and I think that it just crazy for drugstore. I would expect to find a primer like this at a more high end place like Sephora or the Macy's makeup counter.

Of course, I'm not bashing on L'oreal for making a drugstore product expensive but when you think of expensive don't you think of luxury? Like because these primers are expensive for the drugstore I automatically think they are going to be fabulous and life changing.

Now because I am a broke college student with no job (anyone hiring?) I couldn't afford the two primers for a really long time. They've been out for months now and the only reason I was able to buy it was because L'oreal was gracious enough, for the budget beauty like me, to sell these primers in sample sizes.

I go to Target at least once a week, whether it's to scour the makeup aisle or to just look around and maybe get a Starbucks drink. Trust me, I love Target so much. So when I was perusing down aisles and idling about it, I stumbled upon the L'oreal sample sizes. It wasn't a magnificent display or anything and the primers were just there, not even near the beauty section, as if this was something not to go crazy about.

Basically, I didn't care what my bank account was telling me. I immediately bought the two sample size primers and I wasn't going to regret it one bit when I got back home. The two sample primers retailed for about $5.99, which is MORE than half the original full size one. Now think about it, these are two pretty good sample sizes. You don't need a lot of primer, you'll probably need a pea size amount, and you'll still have weeks to maybe months of good wear and tear of this product. What I also like about this is that it'll help me determine even better whether or not I want to fork over $20 for a bottle of this primer. Just in case I didn't like it, I know I would have totally regretted the whole thing and be mad at myself for buying it in the first place. Oh, the price we pay being broke and loving makeup at the same time. My wallet is so sad right now :(

Anyways, moving on from my woes, I tried out each primer for a week and I really put it to the test. I love my primers and because of the price, I had super high expectations. Let's read what L'oreal has to say about these primers.

L'oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur Claims: Miracle Blur instantly erases the look of lines, wrinkles, and pores. Skin instantly looks and feels smooth, leaving a velvet soft matte finish that lasts all day. (www.lorealparisusa.com)

L'oreal Youthcode Pore Vanisher Claims: Fresh, airy cream minimizes the look of pores with a soft focus finish. (www.lorealparisusa.com)

And that's all the claims with each primer, so let's get on with the review!

First Impressions: Disney's Ariel Treasure Within Beaty Book by E.L.F.

How super excited was I when I discovered this gem at the drugstore?! This, our wonderful readers, is the Disney's Ariel Palette Treasure Within Beauty Book by E.L.F. My sister and I actually found this at Walgreens during a random run to the drugstore. We both saw it and went OOOOOOO! I was hesitant to buy it at first because I wasn't too sure of the quality but my sister liked it so much that I decided to buy it. I mean why not, it was only $10! There were other beauty products that went with this collection like lashes, I believe a brush set and makeup bag, and some hair accessories. I wasn't too interested in those and I just got the palette.

First off I'd like to say is that the design of this palette is absolutely gorgeous. The novelty of this item gives me such a nostalgic feel and giiiirrrlll Ariel's hair looks fantastic! The packaging is made out of tough cardboard and the strap closures to keep the front closed.

Now when you open it up, this is what the inside of the palette looks like. It comes with a little mirror on the side with a cute saying "You've got your own style...". This palette comes with six eyeshadows, two bronzers, and a lipgloss. The beauty book also comes with two beauty tools, an eyeshadow brush and a bronzer brush. I love the little detail of the bookmark with the A for Ariel wax stamp. On the back of it is a small version of the right side of the palette. Although it's cute it is quite annoying because every time I close the book it's in the way and I end up creasing the bookmark.

If you open the left side of the beauty book where the little mirror is, you'll find two step by step instructions of two different makeup looks. On the corner it has the saying "...Now let it come through." which finishes the quote from the front cover. I love it when any palette has these because if I'm feeling lazy and don't want to conjure up an eye look by myself, I can just refer to the tutorials.

Now that my little overview is done, let's actually check out the eyeshadows, bronzers, and lipgloss!

Review: Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stain

Hello there! Welcome to another lip product review (we hope you like these). This is going to be as short and as simple as I can possibly make it. These lip pies have been in the market for quite some time and these are the Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stain. I heard amazing things about this lip product, especially from the youtubers eleventhgorgeous. I don't exactly remember what they said about it but that it was good. Me, being the lip girl that I am, was completely intrigued. Let's check out what claims Jordana has on these Twist & Shine's.

Claims: Moisturizing balm stain with a lightweight stain. Applies with a glossy finish then transforms into the perfect flush of color. Long lasting, retractable, and paraben free!

I have five different and beautiful shades to review for you today so click on the read more to...read more!

BH Cosmetics Galaxy Chic Baked Eyeshadow Palette: Review & Swatches

Hello beautifuls, today I have the BHCosmetics Galaxy Chic Baked Eyeshadow Palette to review and talk about! If I haven't said this before then I'll say it now but I cannot leave the house without some eyeshadow or eyeliner on my eyes. So you'll probably see a lot of palette reviews on this blog :)

I got this palette as a Christmas gift from one of my closest friends. Besides, BHCosmetics was having an amazing sale at the time so she also profited from the site as well. I had been expressing my want for this palette ever since I saw JLovesMac1 use it in a video. I think it was in a tutorial that she was using this and I fell in love with how it looked like on camera.

So let's get on with the review and swatches! I'm too super excited to talk about this palette...

Claims: Look out of this world with our astronomical 18 baked eyeshadows. This Galaxy Chic Palette will take you from Plain Jane to an infinite trendsetter. Inspired by the moons and planets of the universe, eyeshadow shades range from hot sun-orange to cool-earth blue and colors of the Milky Way. Be as chic as a sparkling star!

Review: Stila In the Garden Eye Shadow Palette

Hey guys! Spring and Summer is the time where I become a little more "adventurous" with my makeup looks. I put adventurous in quotations because I don't go all-out with my eye looks. If I want to incorporate some color, I usually do so with one color, whether it be in the lower lash line, in the crease, or simply on the lid. I bought the Stila in the Garden palette a while ago because I thought it would be the easiest way to incorporate color into my looks.

This palette includes 10 eyeshadows, 1 matte and 9 shimmer. However you could argue that the bottom left shadow is matte, since the shimmer doesn't really appear. Most of the colors are neutral, everyday colors, but the 3 AMAZINGLY-GORGEOUS  jewel-toned colors on the right made me buy this palette. THEY ARE JUST AMAZING. Now onto the swatches!!!

Julep Maven Monthly Box: June

Hello everyone and welcome to the month of June! I have received my Julep Maven Monthly box and I'm kind of disappointed in the picks for the month. I'm seriously thinking about canceling my subscription and going to Ipsy? Anyone Ipsy subscribers? Please leave a comment down below and tell me if you are and your experiences with it.

The collection that Julep is highlighting for this month is The Three Wishes Collection. There are a wide range of colors, again based on your style quiz, and for Maven's if you don't like your bag you can switch to a different style. This month also features the Oxygen Technology Base Coat and Top Coat. It's supposed to give you stronger, healthier, and breathable nails.

I was originally Boho Glam but I didn't really like what the box had so I switched over to Classic with a Twist. In it, came three items, the Oxygen Smoothing Base Coat, and two nail polishes in Bergen and Ariana. I was more particular to this box because I've pining for a new base coat and I personally think the nail polish colors are something I would definitely wear.

Oh! And I got pixie sticks in my box. LMFAO did any other subscribers get pixie sticks? Stix...?

Well anyways, click on read more to check out my thoughts on each polish!

May Drugstore Makeup Finds Of The Month: Sally Hansen, Rimmel & Milani

Oh my! It's already the end of May and that means I have my drugstore makeup finds of the month for you! Honestly, I didn't try out too many things this month because there wasn't really anything I was interested in. But, I have two products that I do want to talk about because all in all I think that I only bought three beauty products for the month of May.

I know I skipped April because I tried really really hard NOT to buy anything for that month because...no money in the bank of Daisy. So for this month I am featuring the Big Shiny Top Coat by Sally HansenRimmel Scandaleyes Gel Eye Liner and the Milani Power Lip Lasting & Moisturizing Gloss Stain. These are fairly new products for me so let's get with my finds of the month!

Review: Essence Get BIG Lashes Volume Boost Waterproof Mascara

Hey guys! It has been a while since I (Jalisa) have written a blog post. You know how it is, with college and everything--it just becomes too overwhelming and there is literally no time for anything other than school. College right? Anyways, I am back for the summer and ready to get more reviews and such back on the blog! So today, I am going to review the Essence Get Big! Lashes mascara.

The Essence website provides a very "infomercial-like" description of this mascara:

sad romantic movies, tears of joy, sweaty athletic activities or a jump into cold water - the get BIG! lashes volume boost mascara waterproof is an ideal companion, no matter what the occasion! it offers perfect lashes without smudging and conjures-up mega volume de luxe - even when you go diving! an absolutely reliable styling partner!

Honestly, I bought the mascara a while ago and have thrown it out since. Don't worry, I have some things to say about this mascara, good and bad.

Review: L'oreal Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara

Hello lovelies! Today, I have another product to review for you. We're going to be talking about the L'oreal Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara. I first saw these in a kandeejohnson youtube video and then once more at my local CVS. I was actually excited to try these out because 1) cute packaging!!!!! 2) I never try out new mascara's and 3) it looked fabulous on Kandee Johnson.

The display was so cute at CVS. As you can see on the packaging it has a panda with big manga type eyes and fabulous lashes on it. SO CUTE!!!!!!! The mascara packaging itself is pink and black, very chic in my opinion, like I want to display this mascara out! Ugh, so cute. I don't have any mascaras that look like this. It's either the usual silver or black packaging. Here, I have the color Blackest Black.

Now I haven't seen this mascara being advertised yet and the only place I've seen it being sold has been at CVS. I do believe the Miss Manga Mascara is sold in Europe and possibly Asia but I'm not too sure. The only information that I was able to get about this mascara is through the L'oreal UK website.

Claims: Miss Manga features a 360 degree flexible brush for effortless application. Its unique brush has a flat surface to intensify and amplify upper lashes while its conical shape capture the lower lashes. (there's more but the site won't let me scroll down...www.loreal-paris.co.uk)

These claims sound great so let's get on with the review!

Julep Maven Monthly Box: First Box First Impressions & Swatches

Hello wonderful people that actually read our blog! It's been a long time since we last posted  but it is May now! A Drugstore Makeup Finds Of The Month will be due soon because I plan to be faithful to that segment of our blog.

Well anyways, this blog post will be about the Julep Maven Monthly Box and my first experience with any type of monthly box. Julep was having an amazing deal for new members where the first box is basically free! All you have to do is pay for shipping which is just a measly $3 considering the box itself each month is $25. You get three Julep products ranging from nail polish, makeup, nail care, skin care, maybe haircare (?), and anything else Julep does. Honestly, I thought the only thing Julep did was just nail polishes and I've seen those at Sephora before. They run for about $14 and I could never justify buying them. I do have Butter London polishes which are I think a dollar more but they were more hyped at the time I was really into nail polish.

I haven't heard much about Julep but I could not pass up this amazing deal and I've always wanted to try a monthly box like this. When you go on the site you're first asked to sign up and take a "Style Profile" quiz. The results of the quiz will determine your box of the month. I ended up getting Boho Glam and received two nail polishes and one nail care product. It also came with a buffer for your nails and cards and whatnot describing your box. Honestly, you can choose the style box you want but I went with what I got because it was my favorite one out of the bunch anyways.

Let's check out the products I got!

The drugstore has been coming out with a lot of primers for this spring and this particular product peaked my interest.

I'm so happy about them that I'm so giddy writing this post right now! The two brands that I got my makeup items from is Physician's Formula, E.L.F. Cosmetics, and Garnier.

Review: Real Techniques Limited Edition Duo Fiber Collection

Hello everyone! For this blog post I have a really quick review of the Real Techniques Limited Edition Duo Fiber Collection. If you don't know, the Real Technique brushes were created by Samantha Chapman of pixiwoo. I don't really know if her other sister, Nic did design any other brushes but there are many different kinds. I'm pretty sure I have almost al of them and they are by far my most used and most loved brushes. These particular brushes come in three and are in the white packaging. They are duo fiber and are limited edition.

I actually still see these at Ulta or at least at my particular Ulta. I heard Walmart has started selling Real Techniques brushes so they might be there as well.

This particular brush set comes with three brushes, a face brush, a contour brush, and an eye brush. I've been using these brushes constantly since I purchased them and to start off I really like them. Like I said I have a lot of the Real Techniques brushes and I have to say I don't dislike any one of them. For the review I'll be talking about each individual brush and my opinion on it. Yay! Let's get on with the review.

Claims: Real Techniques Limited Edition duo fiber collection allows you to create soft layers and add texture. These duo fiber brushes are perfect for building color from light to dense. (www.ulta.com)

Flashback Foundations Friday: Maybelline Superstay 24 Hour Makeup Foundation

Hello fellow beauties and welcome to a Flashback Foundations Friday. As one can see, I have a slight addiction to foundations. I'm always on the hunt for new ones and always wanting to try them all out. Which, takes a toll on my foundation drawer and on my wallet. So this segment of the blog is all about foundations that are already at the store and are in my collection. Since a lot of the foundations at the store aren't necessarily new but are still available, I figured why not review those as well instead of just new ones! Since I've been using these foundations for some time my review of it will be more precise instead of first impressions type.

Anyways, I heard of this foundation, the Maybelline Super Stay Makeup Foundation, through youtuber cutesygirl09, who made a video featuring it. Her skin looked absolutely gorgeous and flawless that I wanted to get the foundation right away. It comes in 8 shades and I got this foundation over the summer so the color is darker than what I am in the winter. I've tried it a couple of times in the summer and in the winter (I actually made the color work!) to get a good consensus on what I think of this product.

Claims: Stays comfortable and looks naturally flawless all day. Micro-Flex formula provides 24-hour wear and no transfer. Withstands heat, sweat and humidity. Oil-free, dermatologist-tested, fragrance-free. Suitable for all skin types. (Information from Maybelline website).

These are amazing claims made by Maybelline. So, let's get on with the review!

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette: Swatches & Review

I FINALLY GOT THE URBAN DECAY NAKED 3 PALETTE!!! This has been a long time coming. I've been lusting over this palette ever since it was launched and I finally have it! My goodness, was this hard to track down. I saw it at Macy's in my hometown but at that time I didn't have enough money for it. When I finally got the money, it was all gone. I waited another month or so before I found it again at Ulta, all beautifully restocked. I grabbed one and couldn't wait to get home and try it out.

Can I tell you that I opened the palette with the utmost care? Like, I didn't want to rip it or anything and I'm not that kind of person. I'm the kid at Christmas that rip open presents and throw it up in the air acting like I don't have to clean any of that up later. I just could not deal with all the excitement.

I've had this palette for a couple of weeks now and I can say that I have a pretty good opinion about it. So let's get on with the swatches and review!

A Mini NYX Cosmetics Haul

Recently, I've been on this big makeup buying binge, and it needs to stop soon. I mean I'm having fun but my bank account is crying!

Anyways, NYX Cosmetics came out with their new 2014 line and everything looks absolutely amazing but the only things I were truly interested in were their new Butter Lipsticks. So, not only did I buy the lipsticks but I also got the Butter Lipglosses, which are not new, because I've never tried them before. I got a total of three butter lipsticks and two butter lip glosses.

From left to right I have:

Pops- a natural mauve pink
Hunk- a gorgeous bright blue violet color
Licorice- a rich and deep burgundy

From left to right I have:

Devil's Food Cake- a very glossy deep plum
Tiramisu- in my opinion, the perfect nude brown

My first impressions of these have been amazing. I think they are both super smooth and pigmented. I have been loving these ever since I got them, the lip glosses in particular, and I would recommend this for everything. It's both pretty cheap with the lipsticks costing $6 and the lip glosses $5. I got these off of the NYX website and I had no issues with shipping. It came pretty fast! (that's what she said ;) )

I wasn't going to do a full on review and swatches post of these just because I didn't feel it to be necessary. But, if you want it please leave a comment down below and I'll definitely make it happen.

I hope you enjoyed my mini NYX haul and I'll see you in the next blogpost.

Thanks for all the support and love!

Review: Covergirl Bombshell Shineshadow

Hey guys and welcome back to another review (what else is new?). We love doing these and hunting down new products to share with you all and these are actually not that new at the drugstore but its taken me a while to write a review for it (because I'm lazy :D ). So here are the Covergirl Bombshell Shineshadows

I'm not a huge fan of Covergirl I've only really tried their foundations. I have some eyeshadow quads and trios but they aren't that great compared to the other drugstore brands. I've never even tried a mascara from them and apparently they are really awesome! Mental reminder: need to try Covergirl mascara's out. Anyone have any suggestions? I like volumizing mascara's the best. Leave a comment down below!

Now back to the product, these came out I think around early January with the whole "bombshell" collection and I just happened upon these at a display at Target. I had no intention of buying these but they looked actually very interesting and I figured it was time to try out more Covergirl products.

The colors I have are 325 Copper Fling (on the left) and 310 Platinum Club (on the right). These were the two colors I was most interested in. There are a total of six shine shadows, a white, a gold, a green, and a lilac. I have the other two.

Here's what Covergirl claims: Transform your eyes into bombshell sexy. Each shiny or shimmery Bombshell Shineshadow by LashBlast contains reflective pigments so your eyes dazzle when light hits your face. It is a long lasting cream shadow, blendable formula, and has easy breezy application.

Lots of wonderful claims Covergirl! So let's get with the review.

February Drugstore Makeup Find Of The Month: Real Techniques, NYC, & Wet N' Wild

Hello everyone and welcome back to another makeup find of the month! Hurray for the consistency. February is almost over and I found some interesting things at the drugstore that I would like to share.

First up is this Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. I've been wanting this for a while and when it first came out, I couldn't find it anywhere! After months and months since its been out I finally found it at Ulta, the only one left in the stand, and I grabbed it and bought it.

I was super excited to finally own it because from what I've heard it's a pretty comparable dupe to the beauty blender. Now, I don't own the beauty blender but I hope to one day but this sponge is a much cheaper alternative. This only retails for $6! It was practically a steal.

As you can see this sponge has a much different shape from the beauty blender. It has a flat edge which it says helps with contouring around the eyes and nose. The sides of it blends large areas of the face and the tip covers imperfections (thank god for the diagram on the back of the packaging).

So far, this is an absolutely amazing sponge. You have to damp it to get its full effect and I was so amazed at how much bigger the sponge got once it was wet. Its twice the size from the original! It feels super nice on my skin and my foundation looks ten times better applied with this. I've really only used it for my foundation and haven't tried contouring with it or anything but so far so good! If you want a good quality beauty sponge I suggest you pick up this one!

The next beauty item I got at the drugstore this month is the NYC City Proof Twistable Intense Lip Color.

We've Been Nominated For The Liebster Award!

How sweet it was to receive a comment from Lazerlips Loves or xxlazerlipsxx or Rachel and find that she has nominated us for a Liebster Award! Neither Jalisa or I knew what a Liebster Award is so I did some research and here's what I've found.

This information is from Wording Well and it says that the Liebster Award is an award give to bloggers by bloggers. It's like a chain letter. Remember back in the day Facebook and Myspace where your friends "tagged" you in a post and you had to keep tagging other friends to keep the post moving on? Well this is it! You can choose to accept it or ignore, it's really up to you. So, because we want to be a part of the fellow blogger community we decided to accept it! And it seems fun anyways.

Here Are The Rules:
  1. You must link back to the person who has nominated you.
  2. You must answer the 11 questions given by the person who nominated you.
  3. You pick 11 nominees with under 200 followers to answer your questions.
  4. You cannot nominate the person who nominated you.
  5. You must tell the nominees that they have been nominated by you.
Simple as that right? So let's get on with these questions!

Beauty Blunder: Almay Shadow Softies

There are always those beauty items that we hope and pray works out because its concept is so interesting but when you take it home and try it, its just eh. This is what I like to call a beauty blunder.

This is my first time showcasing a new segment on our blog. I was originally going to put this under "Makeup Finds Of The Month" but I feel that has a more positive light to it therefore I need either an okay or great product for it. So I decided on doing blunders because we all have experienced this.

For my first ever beauty blunder, I present the Almay Shadow Softies. I kept seeing these at Target and thought the colors and the concept of it was interesting. Here is what it claims.

Claims: Light as air, whipped powder shadows provide pure color. Choose from 12 matte and metallic shades to create a crease -free look. Hypoallergenic, ophthalmologist tested, made for sensitive eyes. (info from www.target.com)

Review: Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser

How excited was everyone else when Maybelline announced that they were launching their Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser in America?! Because, I sure was! I mean I've seen other people haul it in videos but it was only available in the asian market. I didn't want to pay shipping and what not to get a very affordable product in stores. Besides, I don't have any close friends in Asia to have them send it to me.

Now that America finally has it, I made a beeline to the drugstore. I knew from watching beauties on youtube that I was most likely to find this primer at CVS. And I actually did find it, which is a miracle for me because I never find new products so easily.

CVS had hidden the display on like a low shelf in the back with other new drugstore products, so it wasn't displayed proudly like the new Maybelline Elixirs (which there will be a review up on that soon). They had a couple left so I snagged one for a pretty affordable price of $7.99. I bet it was like $6 in other stores but I knew if I didn't just grab the one at CVS I wouldn't be able to find it anywhere else.

So, with my overexcitement in hand, let's review the product!

Review: Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation & Stay Matte Primer

Welcome to another review here on Amaryllis Living. Does anyone find these helpful? Leave a comment below and let us know. We'd love the feedback!

Today, I'm bringing you a review on the new Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation and Stay Matte Primer. These are two very unique items from the drugstore because it's not everyday that you get to see completely matte products there. Of course I had to pick these up because not only did this intrigue me but Walgreens had a dollar off coupon for any of the stay matte products. So, I obviously had to take advantage.

So let's get on with the review!
