This is true luxury. Rose-embossed blushes and extremely buttery and pigmented eyeshadows, all in a beautiful silver metal case, says it all. However I believe this palette was released in Spring 2007, so it is not readily available to purchase. Despite the fact, I just wanted to share the beauty and elegance that is Chantecaille.
According to the Chantecaille Twitter page, this brand is a "luxury skincare and cosmetics company known for its highly botanical & innovative skincare line and its philanthropic and runway inspired collections."
After perusing the internet on the products, I must say that THESE ARE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THINGS EVER. It isn't hard to believe that this is such an expensive brand, because many of their makeup products are intricately embossed with images like tigers and roses and wild horses. It is so amazing. Sorry if I am fangirling too much :) Okay well now onto the review of the Chantecaille Les Roses Palette.
As you can see, this palette includes 2 blushes and 4 eyeshadows. Here is an image of the top row. Unfortunately, there are no names for these shades, but they are pretty standard colors. Just to let you know, all of these shades have an incredibly butter-like texture, and they are all smooth and refined. Also, they all have a satin finish.
I will describe the shades from left to right.
Left: Shimmery pink blush. This shade is great for everyday, plus it provides you with that natural glow.
Middle: Sandy, champagne-y color.
Right: Taupe-y purple color.
Now onto the bottom row:
Left: Standard peach shade. It reminds me a little bit of Nars Orgasm.
Middle: Great cream color. In the sunlight, it looks like it has a golden undertone. If you know what MAC Vanilla pigment looks like, this reminds me of that shade.
Right: Darker taupe, maybe like a slate color.
All I have to say is that these shades are incredible pigmented and easy to work with. You can achieve a multitude of looks with this palette, whether you want to achieve a natural day look, or a sultry and smoky night look. This palette is the whole package.
Pros:
- Incredibly pigmented
- Soft, buttery texture
- Easy to achieve a variety of looks
- All around amazing
Cons:
- The price.
Final Thoughts
This palette is amazing, however if you do not have the money to purchase it (like myself and most do), then it is okay. These are pretty basic colors that can be found in many other brands. But, if you want to splurge on something with beautiful packaging and pay for the name, then go ahead.
By the way, I received this as a gift from someone who has a lot of makeup, so yeah. I just wanted to put that disclaimer out there in case some of you assume that I am a spoiled rich girl that buys luxury makeup products whenever I want.
Grade: A+
This product retails for $105. Crazy right? It is difficult to find, so sorry about that. But here is the link to the Chatecaille website, if you just want to bask in its beauty lol.
