June 2015 Ipsy Glam Bag: Swim Into Beauty

Hello everyone! Since the "revamp" and "name change", I wanted to at least get my Ipsy blog posts up kind sort of on time (hehe). So for the month of June Ipsy's theme was named 'Swim Into Beauty'. I actually didn't get to read the car that came along with the bag because I accidentally threw it out! Nevertheless, I really liked the bag for this month.

The material of the bag is quite different from previous bags. While it is black all around, the front of the bag has the word Ipsy embossed all over and is a different material from its background. The zipper is a bright coral which I love. I still can't quite put my finger to what the material is but it feels like it is waterproof. I bet all this information was in the card...

Anyways, as per usual, you receive five beauty items in your bag each month for only $10! I've been really impressed with Ipsy so far and I have high hopes for what's in my bag this month. So please click on read more to find out more!

Swimming into the first product is the J.Cat Beauty Liptitude Hydrating Lip Stain.

Claims: Highly pigmented, hydrating, semi-matte lip stain. A delightfully creamy and lightweight stain for any occasion. Silky, smooth and packed with Vitamin E and plants extract, this stain is your go to glam tool for sexy. Liptitude will last 24/7 and give you some serious ATTITUDE.

The color that I received was Blow Your Mind, which I had to look up online because the name is not on the packaging! But, Blow Your Mind is this gorgeous bright bright pink that's perfect for the summer. It looks a little darker on the packaging than it is in the tube.

I was really impressed with the way this lip stain applied on the lips. It is super opaque, creamy, and such a dream to apply. I like the applicator which is flat on both sides, which made it so easy to apply as well. I also wouldn't call this a lip stain at all. It's more of like a "lighter liquid lipstick" because it feels more like a simple normal lipstick except liquidy. It has a minty scent as well as taste, which I really like, because it definitely hydrates my lips. And it does dry to a semi-matte finish and it is transferrable. I would suggest blotting your lips to ensure that it does dry quickly and is the semi-matte finish it claims.

What I do notice throughout the day is that if you eat oily foods then it will start to fade and make that line in the inside part of your lip. I also notice (because I'm a messy eater and such a blabbermouth) is that it does start to feather at the corners of my mouth. I would suggest either lining your lips with a matching color or use a lip primer. And, if you have super dry lips I would suggest moisturizing with a good balm before applying these on. It does accentuate any dryness even though the product itself is ridiculously moisturizing.

Other than that, I'm in love with these lip stains. I think that if you're in the market for a comfortable and moisturizing lip product that does last all day and for only $5.99, then this is for you. I'm definitely going to be buying more since right now J.Cat and Ipsy have a special discount going on until July 31 and they have a variety of shades. Out of all the lip products Ipsy has put in my bags, this is the best!

The next product in my bag is the IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil.

Claims: Brow power matches all hair colors and covers gray perfectly! The oval shaped tip is perfect for both thin and thick brows. The spooley end brush gives a natural polished look! Developed with leading plastic surgeons, IT Cosmetics' proprietary anti-aging technology infuses a blend of brown-conditioning ingredients including Saw Palmetto, Nettle Extract, Green Tea, Biotin, Lecithin, Vitamins A, C, E, Grape Seed and Panthenol. Their exclusive, transforming shade adjusts to every hair color based on how hard you press to you a beautiful, natural looking brow.

Although I have super thick brows, I do like to have good brow products. I was super excited to receive this in my bag because I've never tried a brow pencil before! I've heard of amazing brow pencils like the Anastasia Beverly Hills one but I never thought to get them because of my naturally thick brows.

The shade that I received in this brow pencil is the color Universal Taupe. I was a little hesitant because it looked a little too brown in comparison to my very black eyebrows. But I actually really liked it. Like the claims said, the tip is actually oval shaped and it really helped me prevent from either using too much or too little product. The other end also has a spooley side which I love to use for brushing out my eyebrow hairs as well as blending the eyebrow seamlessly in.

The wear of this eyebrow pencil is amazing. It literally lasts all day long. I even used this on my mom who A) doesn't wear makeup and B) has super thin and sparse brows (but she's beautiful without makeup) and this looked natural on her. She even went out with her brows done and came home looking exactly as she had left. I think this brow product is amazing. The Universal Taupe really does work for everyone with darker eyebrows because my mom's eyebrows are lighter than mine but it worked really well. I'm really into eyebrows pencils now!

Up next is the Smashbox Cosmetics Photo Finish Foundation Primer.

Claims: Create a perfect canvas for foundation application with this silky, lightweight blend of vitamins A & e, grape seed extracts and green tea. Worn alone or under foundation, this best-selling, oil-free primer helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores for flawless skin with a velvety-smooth finish. This primer diffuses the light hitting your skin to blur out imperfections for an even, soft-focus while also making your makeup last all day long.

I've tried out this primer before so let's just cut to chase because I love it. I've used all of the different types of primers that Smashbox has to offer in this particular primer line and they are all amazing. I haven't it bought it since I last used the last tube of it but I was really happy to see this in my bag. Especially, in such a cute travel size!

This primer is a silicone base primer so if you don't like that then this is not for you. But I love silicone base primers because it just applies on smoothly on my skin. It also makes my pores literally disappear (and I have HUGE pores around my nose) and applying foundation on top of this makes it look even better. This primer is going to be great to bring along with me on my future travels!

Next is the BeFine Cucumber Facial Mask.

Claims: Exactly what your skin craves, this Cucumber Cooling Mask revitalizes, repairs and rejuvenates the complexion. Cucumber Extract removes dead skin cells while soothing and tightening the skin. Pomegranate Extract, which is loaded with antioxidants, helps repair the skin and keeps it looking its youngest. Watermelon Extract reduces the break down of DNA in skin cells while keeping them hydrated.

While I do like a good facial mask, I wasn't particularly excited about receiving this product in my bag this month. Again, I've said time and time again I'm just not into face masks because I find them just super tedious. I just like them for a special occasion or a girl's night! But of course, since I got this in my bag I had to try it.

First off, the scent is cucumber and is very fragrant. I personally like a cucumber scent but for people who don't like over scented products, this is not for you. But for me, it smells pleasant and fresh. The texture of this facial mask is that of a thick cream but I was able to easily apply it on my face. As I was applying it on, them ask felt very cooling already which I really like.

Once it's on my face and dry, the mask has a tingling and cooling effect, which is super refreshing. I kept the mask on for about ten minutes and was comfortable with it. After I washed it off, my face did feel smooth and clean. I like this mask and I think this would be great for people with sensitive skin because it doesn't feel harsh at all.

I will definitely be continuing to use this and see how the long lasting results will be on my skin.

And finally, the last product is the tre'StiQue Mini Shadow Crayon

Claims: This amazing 12 hour eye shadow has customizable color that you an build from a subtle wash to intense vibrancy. It's also super bendable with a crease free, smooth finish.

The color that I received is Marimoto Pink Pearl which is described as a nude pink shimmer. It is definitely a shimmer and pearl color. It's actually a very pretty inner corner highlight on the eyes.

These tre'Stique shadow crayons are super pigmented and super creamy. It is buildable which I really like and easy to apply. I love the concept and packaging and it is super easy to use on the go. If you check out the rest of the line, all their products are so cute!

With the lasting power of these, I do find that my eyes do crease. I would definitely suggest using a primer underneath if you have super oily eyelids like I do. I wish I would have received a deeper shade just because I could see myself wearing the other colors that Ipsy offered instead of this one. They had a brown, a gold, and I think a green. Nonetheless I am interested in trying out this new brand that I think just recently launched. It is a pricey brand but I do suggest trying out their bundles! It's cheaper for more products.

And that is all that I received in my Ipsy glam bag! I really liked what I got in this months bag and am excited to continue to use all of them. If you tried out any of these products, then let me know what you think! Or, let me know what you received in your Ipsy bag. Thanks for reading and I hope you all like these posts!
