November 2014 Ipsy Bag: Girl Meets Glitter

Hello everyone and welcome to another month of Ipsy! For this November month, the theme was Girl Meets Glitter which is very fitting for the upcoming holidays. The bag came in a silver glitter pouch with hot pink zipper lining. The bag was also in collaboration with Forever 21.

The bag is okay in my mind but it's definitely not my favorite style out of all the bag I've received thus far. For some reason it kind of reminds me of Barbie and her accessories, lol I don't know why but it does...does anyone else think this way? Hehe, anyways as per usual the bag comes with five personalized beauty items and of course I took a sneak peek in the glam room and was super pleased to see the items that I got.

So if you want to see the beauty items that I got in my bag this month, please click on the read more!

The first item in this bag is the Elizabeth Mott You're So Fine Eyeliner

Claims: It's not just any liquid liner. With you're so FINE's micro-tipped brush, you can control your strokes to create dramatic, and sharp cat eyes! This brush is so control friendly that creating precise, symmetrical lines is ridiculously easy, so it's perfect for first time liquid eyeliner users too.

The specialized, quick drying formula has intense, inky pigmentation that's waterproof, meaning it lasts all day without smudging. Just in time fort he holidays, the super flirty Glitterati formula will make you the center of attention. All eye on you, gorgeous!

This liner came in such cute packaging. It is black and white with a striped handle. The color I received this liner in is called Glitterati. I think this was a fun choice for this bag considering the the me is about glitter and it is in a black color so that this is very wearable.

The applicator is a brush tip which is something I rarely use because when I use liquid liner it's usually in a felt tip form. I can't even remember the last time I used a brush tip liner. So, I was pleasantly surprised to find that this brush is extremely easy to use. I suck at doing a cat liner without at least tape. But because it says in the claims that the brush can even be used for beginners, I gave it a try. While my cat lining skills are still imperfect, it was achieved easier with this then with a felt tip for me. The brush is flexible and really nice but I do see some fraying in the design. Little brush hairs tend to stick out whenever I take it out of its packaging but overall it's a great brush.

Now for the formula, it claims to be waterproof and quick drying and surprisingly it is true to its claims. The liner definitely dried quickly and it was opaque. I liked that the glitter is subtle on the lids and doesn't dominate over the black. The wear throughout the day was waterproof and smudge proof. The liner wore well throughout the day and the only fading was the opacity. The liner wasn't as black as when I first applied it but other than that this is a great liner. This is priced at $17.99 for the full size which was what was given in the bag.

The second item in my bag is the Rouge Underground Makeup Sealant. This was placed separately from the bag and came in a hot pink mesh type bag. It also came with a little card and coupon for however many percent off from their website.

Claims: This revolutionary makeup sealant is designed to seal and set any makeup to last up to 24 hours. It is waterproof, sweat proof and its non-transferable formula is silky to the touch.

This sealant comes in 0.5 oz and is priced at $12.99 for the full size. I had already seen a review made by Tati of GlamLifeGuru on youtube about it so I was a bit biased. But of course I know that makeup products act differently on everyone and so I had an open mind with it.

The first thing I noticed was the nozzle. I have the Urban Decay All Nighter Spray and in comparison to that nozzle with this nozzle, it is definitely weird and cheap. The nozzle on the Urban Decay spray has a nice and even spritz but with this Rouge Underground one, it doesn't spray on evenly at all. Even if I hold it from a good distance it feels almost like a water gun not a mist fan like the one you would get at Disney World.

Now for the formula. it sprayed on extremely wet on my face. Rather than a mist, I saw droplets of it on my face, making it longer to dry. As for the wear throughout the day I didn't noticed anything as astounding as my Urban Decay spray. I felt like my foundation stayed on as it normally would if I didn't put on a makeup spray. I'd probably use this makeup sealant just to finish it but I don't think it is good enough in comparison to the Urban Decay All Nighter Spray.

The next item is the Marc Anthony Oil of Morocco Argan Oil Volume Shine Hairspray. This is my first hair product received in the Ipsy bag and I was super excited to receive it since Marc Anthony seems like a luxury brand.

Claims: Get extra volume, shine and hold with this dual purpose hairspray; nourishing and styling in one! This argan oil, keratin and grape seed oil infused hairspray gives you strong and flexible hold plus deep nourishment, strengthening and conditioning as you style.

The non-water based, fast drying formula freeze-frames your volume and hold without stickiness or flaking and it's flexible finish creates workable styles for easy re-styling without crunch or heavy build-up. It creates a luminous finish and shields against humidity for longer lasting styles. Sun Protectors keep the sun and other elements from damaging your full bodied mane. What more could you want from a hairspray?

The only hairspray that I've been using for a long time has been the L'oreal Elnett Hairspray and even then I don't really use hairspray too often. So since I got this in my Ipsy bag I felt more obliged to use hairspray more often and the claims on this sounded amazing.

First I love the smell of this hairspray! It smells sweet with a hint of chemicals...I don't know it's weird but I like it. I really like the hold of this spray it reminds me a lot of the Elnett Hairspray. It has a really good hold and doesn't make my hair feel super hard or stiff. It allows my curls to naturally flow and keep them in place for the entire day. I wore this hairspray for a night out and happily my curls stayed completely intact.

It also came in such a great travel size that when I head back home for the holidays, it'll definitely be in my bag.

The fourth item from my bag is the Tarte Maracuja Oil. Now I have been wanting to try out this oil for seriously the longest time but I never wanted to cough up the money for it. So getting this deluxe sample was so worth the mere $10 I spent when it originally costs almost $50 for the full size. This sample will definitely last me for a long time because you just seriously need two or three drops to use it fully.

Claims: Not all oil is created equal. This earth-prescribed treatment oil targets your individual skin concerns and delivers harmony and moisture for firmer, brighter, smother-looking skin.

Rich in essential fatty acids known to recharge and replenish skin, maraca oil helps deliver an overall rejuvenated and even-toned complexion while giving the appearance of brighter skin thanks to a high dose of vitamin C. This powerful anti-aging elixir provides instant hydration-quenching dry skin with no greasy or filmy feel.

I've been using the maracuja oil on my skin and on the tips of my hair since I've gotten it and I have been absolutely loving it! I tend to have dry patches on my skin especially in the summer and whenever I put this on I feel instantly moisturized. My face is definitely smoother and it just feels nice to put on at the end of the night.

Now for the tips of my hair, I heard somewhere that this oil is actually good for other things under your skin and I think that I need more time to play with it to really have an opinion on it. But I can see that my split ends are not as bad as they used to be. So, that's an awesome plus!

The final item in my bag is the Wet n' Wild MegaSlicks Balm Stain in the color Lady & The Vamp.

Claims: Amp up your lips with one stick for a kissable pout in no time! The MegaSlicks Balm Stain glides on smoothly while conditioning the lips, keeping you pucker-perfect. Enriched with Acai Palm Oil, this amazing formula forms a protective shield on the lips to prevent feathering. Continuous moisture formula leaves the lips with a unique minty cooling sensation. No matter how long the kiss, this balm will last and last!

I actually already have this balm stain and I have this exact color in my collection. But it doesn't hurt to have a second one! Actually...I'm probably going to give it to one of my friends.

I actually like this balm stain because it is moisturizing and it does stain my lips. What I don't like about it is that the color of the balm doesn't come out as what you see on the tube. It actually is lighter but it still did have that plum tone to it.

It is a very comfortable balm stain to wear and it's not much of a hassle to have to reapply throughout the day because it is a stain.

And that is all from my Ipsy bag this month! I hope you are enjoying these posts as much as I enjoy making them. Please leave a comment down below and follow us here on the blog or on any of our social media links on the right side of your screen. We'd love to follow any follower back!
