The theme for this month's Ipsy is Thinking of You. The bag, as per usual, comes with five items. Once again, Ipsy did not disappoint me this month!
Click on read more to check out what I got in this months bag.
The first item that I want to talk about is the Coolway Boost Repair Treatment for your hair.
Claims: Coolway's Boost Repair Treatment provides a powerful boost of ionized amino acids and botanical extracts to eliminate damage caused by harsh chemicals and high heat tools.
Boost repair infuses moisture into your hair and locks it in with a unique blend of Silk Protein and Botanical extracts, providing silky-smooth, shiny, frizz-free hair that will hold for days. Clinically tested to reduce hair breakage by 75% and strengthen hair up to four times.
Key Benefits: Provides silky-smooth, shiny, soft-hair with superior hold, Helps enhance the appearance of your hair color, For all hair types, including color treated hair, Non-toxic formula has no Formaldehyde, Lye, Parabens, Phthalates, Sodium Chloride, or Sulfates.
Now I'm not really into hair products that are like this because I've tried out plenty on my hair and found that they just never work on me.
The first time that I tried this Boost Repair Treatment, I didn't notice anything. I did notice the scent and I found it to be pleasant. If you've ever had your hair washed at a salon it smells literally like that. It went into my hair smoothly and it was easy for me to wash out. But again, I didn't notice anything.
The second time I used this I did feel a difference. My overall head of hair felt a lot softer and when I blow dried it out I didn't feel like my hair was being fried. It looked and felt a lot softer.
I'll have to continue using this sample until I finish it to see a true difference but I like it so far. It's pretty lasting but my hair is at a shortish length but so far it's working out for me.
The next product in this bag is the Crown Brush Infinity Shadow/Crease Duet Brush. I was super excited to get a new brush because I love to try out and get new brushes. And, I've never tried anything from Crown Brush.
Claims: This dual-ended brush offers the best of both worlds. The shadow brush is perfect for applying eye shadow or contouring the eye, while the crease brush is designed to be used dry for defining the eye, or wet for precision concealing.
The shadow brush on this dual ended brush is super soft and picks up eyeshadow really well. I really like the size of it because it fits on my lids perfectly and cuts down my eye makeup time. As for the crease brush on the other end, I've really only used it on my lower lash line for shadow and I like it. It's firm and picks up my eyeshadow well and it doesn't irritate my eyes.
There's really not much I can say about this brush because I'm not too picky when it comes to brushes. I liked this Crown Brush a lot and I may buy some more off their website!
Next up is the NYX Cosmetics Butter Lip Balm. I have never tried any of the NYX Butter lip balms which is actually surprising to me because I love NYX. So, when I saw that I got this in my bag, I was super excited to try it out. There were four different types of lip balms that you could have received in the bag and I received Lady Fingers which is a mauve.
Claims: Dip your lips in a sheer wash of color with NYX Butter Lp Balm. One swipe leaves dry lips feeling supple and hydrated. This Buttery Lip Balm is addictively soft and scrumptious and perfect for adding a subtle hint of color for a naturally flirtatious pout. Apply directly to bare lips or apply it over lip liner for more intense color.
Why why why, have I never thought to try out this product?! I am absolutely in love with this lip balm! I love the color Lady Fingers. There isn't too much color and it just gives a nice even tint to the lips. And, the balm is super moisturizing as well. My lips are always dry and this keeps my lips moisturized throughout the day. It is everything it claims to be and I absolutely love it. I'm now going to be looking into some more colors.
The fourth item that I'd like to talk about is the Pixi by Petra Fairy Dust in the shade Brightening Bare. (medium nude sheen)
Claims: Elevate & transform your eye in a few fairy seconds with this glimmering dust. Looks pigments add a lit-up high shine finish to lids, reminding you what wishes are truly made of! Perfect to use dry for a sheer effect, or wet for intense color. The illuminating powder pigments give concentrated glow & enhancing color instantly. The mica provides dense natural pigment and the pearl powder rejuvenates & brightens.
Now I have never tried anything like this product ever before. I mean I'm still a little confused as to what it is and I'm still not a 100% sure on how to use it but I think it's okay.
The color that I got this Fairy Dust in is Brightening Bare and really really natural. I like to put this all over my lids and can either use it alone or as a base. I don't really see the sparkle or glimmer in this but I haven't really tried it wet yet. I don't know, I definitely have to keep trying this out more and see how I like it. So far, not bad.
And the final product in this bag is the Tarte Deluxe Sample Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara.
Claims: Like a pushup bra for your lashes, taste's best-selling mascara lengthens, curls, volumizes and conditions to deliver a 330% increase in lash volume instantly. The high-performance formula is also infused with naturally-derived olive esters to help nourish and protect lashes.
I already have this mascara in my collection and I'm pleasantly surprise to receive this in my bag this month.
I really like this mascara. It volumizes and lengthens my lashes really well. It holds a curl well and is flake proof throughout the day. This mascara is definitely one of the better high end mascara's that I have ever used. I'm going to be giving this sample size to my mom since she's been wanting a new mascara and I already have a full size one. But when my full size Tarte mascara runs out, I'll definitely be going to buy another one.
And that is it for my December 2014 Ipsy Bag! Sorry it was so late but I just received my January one in the mail and I can't wait to try those products out. I hope you guys are liking my Ipsy post.
