Review: Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stain

Hello there! Welcome to another lip product review (we hope you like these). This is going to be as short and as simple as I can possibly make it. These lip pies have been in the market for quite some time and these are the Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stain. I heard amazing things about this lip product, especially from the youtubers eleventhgorgeous. I don't exactly remember what they said about it but that it was good. Me, being the lip girl that I am, was completely intrigued. Let's check out what claims Jordana has on these Twist & Shine's.

Claims: Moisturizing balm stain with a lightweight stain. Applies with a glossy finish then transforms into the perfect flush of color. Long lasting, retractable, and paraben free!

I have five different and beautiful shades to review for you today so click on the read more to...read more!

From left to right are the colors 08 Terra Crave, 02 Sweet Pink, 04 Candied Coral, 03 Tropical Frenzy, and 07 Rock N' Rouge. Not pictured here is a recent one I've purchased after taking these pictures, 06 Cranberry Crush.

So I'm going to quickly talk about each balm stain.

Terra Crave - is a brownish pink, a very natural color for my lips and warm tone

Sweet Pink - is a bright cool tone pink

Candied Coral - is a pinky coral

Tropical Frenzy - is a bright fuchsia pink

Rock N' Rouge - is a bright tomato red

Cranberry Crush - is a light plum color

These are all a great variety of colors and I've been enjoying testing them out for you all! Let's first talk about the packaging. Twist up crayon like lippies are such a trend nowadays and I have been loving it. For me, it is super convenient and super easy to use. I never make a mess and I don't need to sharpen anything.

As for the product itself, I do have to say some colors are hit and miss. Terra Crave and Cranberry Crush glided on smoother than the rest. Although the pigmentation is all there for all the lip crayons, it took Candied Coral, Tropical Frenzy, Sweet Pink, and Rock N' Rouge a couple of more coats to get their opacity. It was also a bit patchy here and there. So the formula isn't all the same for each one of them. They all do apply on glossy.

Because this is a stain, I had to test that out. The staining effect of the Jordana Twist & Shine's stain lighter than the original color. It's kind of weird in my opinion but if you can get past that, I think that the stain is pretty good. It does last a long day and the balm is super moisturizing.

Overall Thoughts:

Overall, I like this balm stain. I can definitely say it is one of the better ones that I've tried at the drugstore. They are super moisturizing and they are so easy to apply on. The only thing is the stain is not true to color. They are also super cheap at the drugstore and if you love lip products like I do, this would be a fun buy (without killing your wallet).

  1. Great review! I really like Revlon Balm Stains, but they tend to dry my lips out. I will have to give these a try!

    1. Thanks for commenting! I like the Revlon Balm Stains too and I agree they can definitely dry my lips out if I don't keep watch. These Jordana ones are surprisingly moisturizing. I didn't have a problem with any dry flakes on my lips (which tend to happen!)

  2. I've tried some revlon productions and I felt the balm stains might dry my already chapped lips. Thanks for the recommendation :)

    1. Thanks for commenting! Yeah I definitely agree. Although the Revlon balm are pretty in color and pigmentation, after awhile they accentuate my dry lips! These Jordana ones are definitely more moisturizing. :D
