Hello lovelies! Today, I have another product to review for you. We're going to be talking about the L'oreal Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara. I first saw these in a kandeejohnson youtube video and then once more at my local CVS. I was actually excited to try these out because 1) cute packaging!!!!! 2) I never try out new mascara's and 3) it looked fabulous on Kandee Johnson.
The display was so cute at CVS. As you can see on the packaging it has a panda with big manga type eyes and fabulous lashes on it. SO CUTE!!!!!!! The mascara packaging itself is pink and black, very chic in my opinion, like I want to display this mascara out! Ugh, so cute. I don't have any mascaras that look like this. It's either the usual silver or black packaging. Here, I have the color Blackest Black.
Now I haven't seen this mascara being advertised yet and the only place I've seen it being sold has been at CVS. I do believe the Miss Manga Mascara is sold in Europe and possibly Asia but I'm not too sure. The only information that I was able to get about this mascara is through the L'oreal UK website.
Claims: Miss Manga features a 360 degree flexible brush for effortless application. Its unique brush has a flat surface to intensify and amplify upper lashes while its conical shape capture the lower lashes. (there's more but the site won't let me scroll down...www.loreal-paris.co.uk)
These claims sound great so let's get on with the review!
This is something I've never done before but I hope you guys appreciate it! Here are close up pictures of my eye. DUN DUN DUN!!!!!!!! These are makeup free eyes and face! I will be showing you my eye with mascara, with mascara but one coat, and another with mascara but with two coats. So here we go!
And here are my lashes with two coats of this mascara. The length looks to be the same but to me there is more volume and prominence in my lashes. It does look a bit spidery but I personally like that on my lashes. This is because I prefer to wear a good amount of eye makeup because I think my eyes are unnoticeable especially when I wear glasses. Wearing lashes like this really peeks through when wearing glasses. I think you can even build this mascara up to a third coat but you will definitely get even more intense spidery lashes that way. Overall, I like this mascara with two coats.
Now to talk about how it did with my bottom lashes. I'm sorry I don't have pictures for that but I tried it out after I took pictures of my eye only with the top coated. Using the mascara as instructed, I used the tip of the brush to coat my bottom lashes. I didn't do my full bottom lash line because the inner corner to the middle of my lashes curl in and I know it's impossible for them to stay straight and out. So, I only did the outer corner lashes, or the ones that do stick out.
Can I just say I literally almost cried? The tip of the brush just grabbed my bottom lashes and volumized it. Not only did it do that but it made those lashes stick out instead of curl back in. It did not irritate my eyes at all, which is what usually happens when I put mascara on my bottom lashes, and it felt comfortable. It looked natural and to be honest is the first time I've ever felt that my bottom lashes looked prominent. I. Am. So. Happy. This has been the only mascara ever that has made my bottom lashes stick out and stay out. Ugh, so happy.
Now this mascara comes in a range of colors. From what I can remember, at CVS I saw a black, blackest black, a brown, and colors, turquoise, and violet. The bad thing about this mascara is that there is no waterproof option. I prefer waterproof because I wear mascara all day I don't want to be crying all of a sudden and have mascara smear all over my face. LOL, I actually did cry a lot while I was testing out this mascara because I was watching something sad, and it didn't smear or anything but I kept wiping to check and the mascara did come off on the tissue. The mascara does not claim to be waterproof but it would be nice if a waterproof option came with this mascara.
So, if you're not crying or swimming with this mascara, it does stay on all day. I started off the mascara in the morning and by the end of the night it looked exactly as it was. My lashes were still thick and curled. My bottom lashes looked fantastic. There was no flaking or a rim of mascara around my eyes and it basically just looked great. I'm very happy with the wear of this mascara.

AHHHH OMG IT'S MY NAKED EYE!!!!!!! I am so sorry for the unplucked brows but this is as real as it gets. This is my freshly washed and moisturized face. What eye shape am I by the way? Almond? Anyways, as you can see I have naturally long and curly lashes (don't hurt me!) on the top but it's sparse in the volume department. I like to say I have the length but not the volume. For my bottom lashes, my eye doctor says I have this condition where it curls inwards. HORROR STORY ALERT, one of the eye doctors had to actually pluck eyelashes off my bottom lash line because she was concerned it was irritating my eyes. She said something about eye ulcers but that has scarred me for life. As you can see the outer corner bottom lashes do come out a little but any lashes from the middle to the inner corner lower lash line curl in. So, I don't put mascara on my lower lash line. I have never found a mascara that makes my lower lashes stick out not even for my outer corner lower lashes. I've tried mascara on the bottom before but my lashes would just end up curling back in making my eye even more irritated.
So what I'm testing for in this mascara are its claims, volume. Now when I took these pictures I did not put any mascara on my lower lashes because that is what I normally do. I just put mascara on my top lashes. Since finding the claims L'oreal had to offer, I saw that it does say that the tip of the mascara wand can help the lower lashes. So I did try it out. My opinion on how this worked on my bottom lashes will be later on in the review.
Here is what the mascara wand looks like. It features an interesting wand shape. This brush is 360, meaning that it is a cone shape and that instead of being just tapered at the end, if you were to turn the brush around in a 360 motion it swirls round all the way. Wow, I don't even know if that makes sense but you know what I mean I hope. The other unique thing about the brush is that it is extremely bendable. It actually does bounce when I apply it to my lashes. The application does feel weird at first but it feels very light and airy on my lashes. I like that it bends like that and that the brush is shaped as it is because it picks up each and every one of my lashes.
This is what my eyelashes looked like after only applying one coat of the mascara. As you can see my lashes look longer and fuller. This to me looks very natural. The application was very smooth and it just grabbed each and every one of my lashes. It didn't clump up and I feel like it opened my eye up and gave me a more manga/doll like effect. I absolutely love it. I have never seen an effect like this on my lashes before. It just looks so nice and natural to me.

Pros:
- CUTE PACKAGING!!!
- Mascara wand picks up every lash
- Does volumize and give that "manga" effect
- Keeps the curl of my lashes all day
- WORKS ON MY BOTTOM LASHES -CUE HALLELUJAH CHORUS-
- Looks great with two coats on
- Doesn't irritate my eyes
- Long lasting
Cons:
- Not waterproof/no waterproof option
- Will get spidery after two coats
Overall Thoughts:
I truly love this mascara. I've been wearing it nonstop ever since I've bought it. I'm so happy with the results that I get from it and that it ACTUALLY WORKS ON MY LOWER LASHES. I bet this would be an even better product if there was a waterproof version. My lower lashes would be happy.
